How to read MICR 152024113
152: the city code. It usually follows the first digits of the area's PIN code; here it is Muktsar.
024: the bank code, the same for every branch of Punjab National Bank in cheque clearing.

The MICR is printed in magnetic ink at the bottom of every cheque leaf, between the cheque number and your account ID. Before you deposit or write a cheque
Check that the MICR on the cheque matches the branch printed at the top of the leaf.

Write in blue or black ink and do not overwrite on the MICR band; changes can make the cheque bounce.
