How to find the IFSC code of your bank branch (6 ways)
Six quick ways to find your bank's IFSC code: cheque book, passbook, net banking, the bank's app, a bank statement or a free IFSC search with RBI data.
Your IFSC is printed on your cheque leaf and passbook, shown in net banking and your bank's app under account details, and listed on your bank statement. You can also search by bank and branch name on this site, which uses the RBI's official IFSC list.
6 ways to find your IFSC
Cheque book: printed at the top of every cheque leaf, near the branch address.
Passbook: on the first page, with your account number.
Net banking: under account or profile details.
Mobile app: under account details; most apps let you copy it.
Bank statement: in the header of a printed or PDF statement.
IFSC search: type your bank and branch, e.g. “SBI Kotkhai”, and copy the code.
Check the code before you pay
Type the IFSC into the validator to confirm it exists in the RBI list and see which branch it belongs to. A valid code is 11 characters: 4 letters for the bank, the digit 0, then 6 letters or digits for the branch.

FAQ
Questions
Where is the IFSC code on a cheque?
At the top of the cheque leaf, next to the branch name and address. The 9-digit number at the bottom is the MICR code, not the IFSC.
Can I find IFSC from an account number?
Not directly; account numbers do not contain the IFSC. Use your passbook, app or the branch name to find it.
Is the IFSC the same for all branches of a bank?
For most banks, no: each branch has its own code. Payment banks such as Airtel and IPPB use one code for everyone.
